SUE, THE INVOLVED COMMUNITY MEMBER

Raised in District 3, Sue appreciates all the opportunities this special District has provided her. As a businesswoman and volunteer, Sue has worked tirelessly on issues that impact Hawaiʻi County on a daily basis including land use, strategic community planning and public-private partnerships. She is a skilled problem solver and an effective collaborator committed to working to better her community whenever she can. Sue and her husband Ian are active members of the Keaukaha- Panaʻewa Farmers Association. Sue has volunteered as Waiākeawaena Elementary Robotics Coach and PTA Special Education Class

Representative. Sue's homestead farm has been a source of blossoms and produce often donated to charitable causes.

SUE, THE Dedicated PUBLIC SERVANT

While a brand new candidate, Sue is no newcomer to public service. She served as County Council Aide for nearly 10 years under various Council Members, including Chairpersons Russell Kokubun, Elroy Osorio, and Jimmy Arakaki. With encouragement from these leaders and others, Sue is now ready to serve District 3 as a Council Member herself! Working in the County Council has developed in Sue an intimate and in-depth understanding of critical matters that lay before the County Council. Because of her invaluable experience, Sue is ready to serve!
